  • Welcome!

I'm Lauriann Wakefield and I believe that weddings are a social celebration of a very sacred commitment, a day filled with beauty and magic. I feel honored to participate in every wedding I photograph. As an artist, I believe my job is to capture that magic and emotion in a most authentic way.

Kielee & Andrew | Bear Lake engagement

A fall engagement in Bear Lake.
They drove about 3 hours to meet up with me.  We started up the canyon and drove on a dirt road for about an hour.  Man was it worth it.  The fall colors were supreme and the Idaho hills have some beautiful vistas.  We then ended down at Bear Lake where a rain storm was skirting our location.

She did not need much, wanted very little.
A kind word, sincerity, fresh air, clean water,
a garden,
kisses,
books to read, sheltering arms, a cozy bed,
and to love and be loved in return.

The story of Krystal and Nick’s wedding

It all began a few days before the wedding when I drove north into Idaho’s beautiful farm country.  Wrapping around rolling hills with small kisses of fall color I came to Krystal’s childhood home where the ceremony would take place.  Projects were still in the works, but the yard was ramping up for a lovely wedding location.  I met her dad with a bit of country charm and we drove out to the family land where the bridal party pictures would be taken.   He told me about the pond, and the fishing, and the cows in the distance, and I was just thrilling inside about this secluded, charming location.

That Saturday afternoon, wedding day, I met Krystal getting ready with her bridesmaids and mothers.  Walking through the home, you could feel it full of anticipation and love.  Nick was ready outside, waiting for Krystal and the ceremony to begin.  Their beloved dogs where part of the procession,  “Best Dog” and “Dog of Honor”.  The afternoon winds dropped by as if to wish the couple a happy wedding day.

At the reception, setting light poured in through the trees as friends and families danced together.  I stepped back for a moment with a full heart at the amount of love.
Once Nick and Krystal were ready to leave, everyone lined the walk with sparklers and cheers.
It was a beautiful day.
